Jacksonville is a city-county-consolidated city located in Duval County, being its county seat. It is the main city of Florida’s First Coast region. It is just north of Florida’s former Spanish capital and oldest city in the U.S., St. Augustine.
Jacksonville is the largest city in the United States. It is the largest city in the state and the 13th largest city in the country. The Jacksonville metropolitan area has more than one million residents (in 1996).
