Everglades National Park (40001 State Road, Homestead) — The Everglades National Park attracts about one million visitors every year to its lush subtropical landscape and fragile ecosystem. It is home to many endangered species, like the Florida Panther and West Indian Manatee. The park offers walking trails and camping for a chance to see some of the 350 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, and 50 species of reptiles.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables) – this garden is an 83-acre oasis established in 1938 as a home for the cultivation of rare and exotic tropical plants. They have extensive collections of rare palms, cycads, flowering trees, vines, and succulents. The garden often feature exhibits from well-known artists, and there are permanent installations throughout the garden as well.
